This ongoing collaboration ensures continued access to in-depth research on Thailand\u2019s evolving position within the $6.3 trillion global wellness economy.<\/p>\n

Among the world\u2019s top 25 wellness markets, Thailand ranked #1 in wellness market growth from 2022 to 2023, with 28.4% growth, according to GWI\u2019s latest Wellness Economy Monitor. Thailand\u2019s wellness market grew from $31.6 billion in 2022 to $40.5 billion in 2023. Globally, Thailand is ranked as the 24th largest wellness economy, 9th in the Asia-Pacific region, and 15th worldwide for wellness tourism. A comprehensive analysis of Thailand\u2019s standing across all 11 wellness economy sectors is available on GWI\u2019s Geography of Wellness platform<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Thailand\u2019s Wellness Economy and Tourism Sector
\n<\/strong>Like much of Asia, Thailand\u2019s wellness economy saw a contraction in 2020 due to the pandemic, declining by 31.6%. However, a strong rebound followed, with a growth rate of 28.4% from 2022 to 2023. This recovery has been primarily driven by wellness tourism, which generated $12.34 billion in 2023, marking a huge 119.5% annual growth rate from 2022 to 2023. Notably, international wellness travelers in Thailand spend on average $1,735 per trip, while domestic travelers spend just $367. Wellness real estate and thermal\/mineral springs also experienced robust growth, with annual increases of 11.4% and 14%, respectively.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n
