The Global Wellness Institute (GWI) Announces Canada as Latest Country Added to its “Geography of Wellness” Platform<\/h3>\n


\nBlueprint Global has partnered with GWI to explore the unique wellness landscape of the 8th largest wellness economy<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Miami, FL \u2013 JANURY 25, 2024<\/strong> \u2013The Global Wellness Institute<\/a>\u00a0(GWI), the leading nonprofit dedicated to research and education in the global wellness industry, has partnered with Blueprint Global, an international leader in luxury real estate, to showcase and explore\u00a0Canada’s<\/span>\u00a0unique wellness landscape. This partnership means that\u00a0Canada<\/span>, recognized as the world’s 8th largest wellness economy ($128 billion<\/span>), is now featured on GWI’s Geography of Wellness, joining\u00a0Brazil<\/span>,\u00a0Indonesia<\/span>,\u00a0Japan<\/span>,\u00a0Singapore<\/span>,\u00a0Thailand<\/span>, the UK and the\u00a0USA<\/span>.<\/p>\n

“GWI’s Geography of Wellness provides a comprehensive understanding of how wellness businesses and activities contribute to individual economies by providing country-specific data for each of the nine wellness economy sectors,” said\u00a0Susie Ellis<\/span>, GWI chair and CEO. “These sectors include spas and thermal\/mineral springs; wellness tourism; workplace wellness; wellness real estate; physical activity; mental wellness; traditional and complementary medicine; and, lastly, public health, prevention, and personalized medicine. By collaborating with in-country organizations our researchers are able to reveal trends specific to\u00a0Canada’s<\/span>\u00a0wellness economy.”<\/p>\n

The new dedicated\u00a0Global Wellness Economy:\u00a0Canada<\/span><\/a>\u00a0report is available for download from the GWI site and shows that\u00a0Canada<\/span>\u00a0has bounced back strongly since 2020, boasting one of the most successful wellness economies in the world.\u00a0Canada<\/span>, the 8th largest wellness economy, has numerous sectors that rank among the top ten globally, including\u00a0$8.5 billion<\/span>\u00a0on mental wellness (#3);\u00a0$1.6 billion<\/span>\u00a0on workplace wellness (#6);\u00a0$15 billion<\/span>\u00a0on public health, prevention & personalized Medicine (#7);\u00a0$11.8 billion<\/span>\u00a0on wellness real estate (#8);\u00a0$22.6 billion<\/span>\u00a0on physical activity (#8); nearly\u00a0$10 billion<\/span>\u00a0on traditional and complementary medicine (#8); and\u00a0$23.7 billion<\/span>\u00a0on healthy eating (#9).<\/p>\n

Wellness in\u00a0Canada<\/span>
Canada’s<\/span>\u00a0unique wellness culture is deeply rooted in Mother Nature, embracing the balance of mind, body and spirit. These traditions date back thousands of years, shaped by founding Indigenous cultures and enriched through\u00a0Canada’s<\/span>\u00a0diverse cultural tapestry.\u00a0Canada<\/span>\u00a0emphasizes mindfulness along with emerging wellness trends at world-class resorts, farm-to-table restaurants, nature parks and recreational wellness venues, blending innovative R&D, technology, health sciences and traditional medicine.<\/p>\n
